Research in architecture, landscape and territory

It is the theoretical and academic engine that nourishes all the practical production of the office.

This line of research, closely linked to our university activity at the UPC, focuses critically on the analysis of extractive landscapes, productive landscapes and material ecologies. Through the case study of the sandstone quarries of Mallorca —research collected in books and specialized publications—, we explore the dynamics of extractive and post-extractive spaces, urban transformation and the resilience of the contemporary territory in the face of environmental, energy and resource challenges.
